Description
Richly Toned 1870 Standard Silver Quarter
Judd-900, PR63
1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-900, Pollock-1015,
R.5, PR63 PCGS. The obverse die is centered around a bust of
Liberty facing right, wearing a headband with one star and the
inscription LIBERTY. The legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA surrounds
the bust, with a scroll inscribed with the motto IN GOD WE TRUST
below. The reverse features the denomination 25 CENTS and the date
encircled in an agricultural wreath, with the word STANDARD above.
Struck in silver with a reeded edge. These pieces were struck on
thick and thin planchets. This appears to be on a thin planchet.
Rose and emerald-green toning is seen on both sides with brightly
reflective proof fields. A few light hairlines and field marks
