Description
Unsurpassable 1901-S Liberty Five, MS67 PCGS
1901-S $5 MS67 PCGS. A relatively common coin in grades up to an including the MS65 level, the 1901-S is often used to represent the With Motto Liberty Half Eagle type. In MS66 and MS67, however, the '01-S is rare, and neither grading service has seen a single coin finer. This pristine, warmly frosted example is overlaid in original orange-gold color with blushes of reddish-gold, golden-rose, and powder-blue shadings here and there. The fully brought up features do not reveal a single bothersome abrasion. It has been 7 years since we last handled a 1901-S Half Eagle of similar quality. NGC and PCGS combined have seen only six coins in MS67 (1/02).Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 25YX, PCGS# 8404, Greysheet# 9102)
Weight: 8.36 grams
Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper
