High Grade 1886-S Morgan Dollar, MS66
Repunched Mintmark VAM-4
1886-S $1 MS66 PCGS. CAC. VAM-4. The mintmark is repunched,
but to a lesser degree than on the Top 100 VAM-2. This
semi-prooflike Premium Gem is well preserved and has delicate
almond-gold toning. The strike is sharp, although slightly
incomplete on the hair above the ear. A lower mintage issue.
Population: 28 in 66, 4 finer (11/11).Ex: Fort Worth ANA (Heritage, 3/2010), lot 1452, which realized $7,475.(Registry values: P6, N2998)
