1866 Washington Five Cents, Judd-461, Gem Proof
1866 5C Five Cents, Judd-461, Pollock-535, R.5, PR65 PCGS. A bust of George Washington faces right on the obverse, the legend surrounds him, and the date is below. The reverse features the denomination 5 CENTS within a laurel wreath with IN GOD WE TRUST above. Struck in nickel with a plain edge. Natural golden-gray patina is splashed over both sides and the only disturbance worthy of mention is a thin, curved depression on Washington's cheek that was on the planchet from day one.
