Gem 1870 Standard Silver Quarter, Judd-900

1870 25C Standard Silver Quarter Dollar, Judd-900, Pollock-1015, R.5, PR65 NGC. Standard Silver design with the figure of Liberty wearing a headband inscribed LIBERTY, a scroll occupies the exergual space below the bust where the date would normally be placed. The reverse has 25 CENTS 1870 in the center and is surrounded by a wreath of cotton and corn with the word STANDARD above. Struck in silver with a reeded edge. Freckles of tobacco-brown and electric-blue patina invigorate the margins, while the centers are lightly toned. Well struck and impressively preserved. A curly lintmark (as made) in the field beneath the first D in STANDARD pedigrees this lovely Gem.(#61144)
