Description

1918-S Dime, MS66 Full Bands
Condition Census Rarity

1918-S 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. CAC. The 1918-S is a challenging issue in Full Bands, and Gem examples are scarce. This CAC-approved Premium Gem is rare, and finer pieces are prohibitively so. CAC has endorsed only 18 Full Bands examples in all grades and just three in MS66 (3/16). This piece is fully struck throughout the fasces, portrait, and peripheral legends. A loupe fails to reveal any abrasions, and the surfaces are illuminated by rich satin luster. Both sides exhibit mottled lemon-gold, amber, and russet toning, with the deeper hues are most prominent near the borders. No finer 1918-S is currently available, as both of the MS67 Full Bands PCGS coins are impounded in Registry Sets. This piece is plated on CoinFacts. Population: 16 in 66 Full Bands, 2 finer (3/16).(Registry values: N4719)
