Description

1927-S Dime, MS66 Full Bands
Delicately Toned, None Finer at PCGS

1927-S 10C MS66 Full Bands PCGS. CAC. San Francisco issues of the 1920s are often difficult to locate with full strikes. This is particularly apparent with the quarter dollar and nickel denominations, but S-mint Mercury dimes from this period are also elusive in Full Bands. The 1927-S dime is particularly scarce. In MS66, this issue is a rarity even with a weak strike, and Full Bands examples are all the more sought-after. Only a single MS67 Full Bands NGC coin is finer. The present piece is one of only seven MS66 Full Bands with a CAC endorsement. In fact, only 13 examples of this date in Full Bands have been endorsed in all grades combined. This piece is fully struck and displays lovely iridescent luster that has a faint lavender-rose hue at most angles. The strike is fully rendered, and the only grade-limiting flaw is a tiny tick between the L and I in LIBERTY. Population: 27 in 66 (1 in 66+) Full Bands, 0 finer (3/16).(Registry values: N4719)
