    Description

    1890 Liberty Eagle, MS65
    Single-Finest Certified at PCGS

1890 $10 MS65 PCGS. The 1890 Liberty eagle claims a modest mintage of 57,980 pieces, but the survival rate for the issue is surprisingly high. The 1890 can be found in lower Mint State grades without much trouble, making the issue popular with type collectors, but the population drops off sharply at the MS62 level. Examples in Gem condition, like the present coin, are extremely rare.

This delightful Gem exhibits sharply detailed design elements, with razor-sharp definition on Liberty's hair and the eagle's claws. The well-preserved peach-gold surfaces show no mentionable flaws and vibrant, satiny mint luster radiates from both sides. Eye appeal is terrific. Population: 1 in 65, 0 finer (7/16).(Registry values: N4719)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 266R, PCGS# 8717)

    Weight: 16.72 grams

    Metal: 90% Gold, 10% Copper

The marketing was exceptional from the photos to the ads in Civil War Times and North South Trader for the cross over people!!! I have had many emails from my Civil War collecting fraternity that saw these and I saw them at the national show in Nashville/Franklin in early December.
