1913 Lincoln Cent, PR67 Brown
Popular Matte Proof Type

1913 1C PR67 Brown PCGS. CAC. What was largely viewed with contempt in the early 19th century is now a challenging and popular collectible. The matte proof Lincoln cents of 1909 to 1916 were struck in limited quantities that exceeded 4,000 coins (barely) on only one occasion. The 1913 matte proof's mintage was 2,983 pieces. This Superb Gem is tied with one other PR67 PCGS coin as the finest certified in the Brown color category (10/17). The coin is razor-sharp and nearly perfect. Rich burgundy-brown toning with reddish undertones conceals a few insignificant specks.(Registry values: N1793)
