Victoria gold "St. George" Sovereign 1879-S MS62+ PCGS, Sydney mint, KM7, S-3858A. A much better date for the type, rarely found in Mint State, with extremely effulgent luster and typical scattered ticks that define the grade. The present example is the second finest circulation strike we have offered of the date, the finest being a NGC-graded MS64 that realized $14,100 in our September 2013 Long Beach auction.
