Description

George V gold Sovereign 1922-M MS63 PCGS, Melbourne mint, KM29, S-3999, Marsh-240 (R2). A handsome survivor of the 'great melt' that meant the demise of vast quantities of Sovereigns during the 1930s and 1940s, resulting in this date becoming one of the rarest of Australia's Sovereigns. Limited marks from handling to the King's bust and surrounding fields cap the grade from attaining loftier levels, whereas the reverse is largely spared of instances of impact. With just 15 graded by PCGS and an additional 8 residing on the NGC census, we expect robust bidding activity for this vigorously lustrous Choice Mint State stunner.
