Description

Charles III 8 Reales 1769 PTS-JR AU58 NGC, Potosi mint, KM50, Cal-1166. Round/Curved 9 over Fancy/Straight 9, no dot after CAROLUS variety. Possessing a slightly iridescent gold and blue patina while showcasing excellent retention of detail on the firmly struck devices, this is a splendid rendition of one of the most sought-after Pillar dollar varieties. No known finer examples of this scarce variety and will surely generate considerable attention when crossing the auction block.
