Chile: Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1809 So-FJ MS62 NGC,...
Description
Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1809 So-FJ MS62 NGC, Santiago mint, KM68, Elizondo-65, Cal-1400. Variety without buttons. Though not quite as rare as the 1808 emission, which is also offered in this sale, this 1809 "imaginary" military bust date is still incredibly sought after by the most discriminating trophy hunters in Latin American numismatics. While some planchet cracks are noted on the obverse across the cheek and hair of El Deseado, the cool cobalt and mauve patina that fills the fields more than makes up for this in terms of charm.Ex.
