Description

Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1811 So-FJ AU58 NGC, Santiago mint, KM75, Elizondo-68, Cal-1404. Imagined military bust type. A minimally available yet ever-popular type when located at the cusp of Mint State. Attractively toned in deep gunmetal and charcoal-gray hues with lighter silver highlights over the portrait. Subtle olive and cobalt undertones and a darker peripheral patina create a pleasing contrast and accentuate the bold Napoleonic-era bust.
