Republic 8 Reales 1840 So-IJ UNC Details (Cleaned) NGC, Santiago mint, KM96.1, Elizondo-101 (Very Rare). Mintage: 4,556. Although the 1839 emission appears with some frequency, we seldom see this 1840 issue, which tends to generate great fanfare when it does appear. The slate-gray patina is uniform throughout, accentuating the remarkably well preserved condor feathers.Ex. Jascha Heifetz Collection (Superior Galleries, December 1989, Lot 675)
