Costa Rica: Central American Republic 8 Reales 1831 CR-E AU55 NGC,...
Description
Phenomenal CAR Rarity
Central American Republic 8 Reales 1831 CR-E AU55 NGC, San
Jose mint, KM22, Elizondo-1. The holy grail of this famed type and
the single-greatest obstacle to completing the series, this
specimen emits a magnificent silhouette-like quality to the devices
and legends. Admitting light wear to the high points, the strike
quality is as strong or even better than that of the Eternal
Collection example that graded MS62 (Heritage Auction 3125, August
2025, Lot 31042). Besides the Eternal Collection piece, only a
single coin grades higher than the offering here and should be the
perfect entrant to an advanced Latin American cabinet. From the Grundy Collection of Latin American and Spanish Coins
