Costa Rica: Central American Republic 8 Reales 1831 CR-F AU55 NGC,...
Description
Costa Rican 8 Reales Rarity
Central American Republic 8 Reales 1831 CR-F AU55 NGC, San
Jose mint, KM22, Elizondo-2. A scarce one-year Costa Rican type
from the San Jose mint, and one of the most coveted issues for both
type collectors and specialists. The steely gray patina reveals
some underlying shades of violet and lime that accentuate the
devices, including the famed sunface motif. We anticipate spirited
bidding consistent with the success of the Eternal example we
offered just last year in the same grade.Ex. Siegfried von Schuckmann Collection (Renaissance Auction, December 2000, Lot 870)
