Description
Ex. Gerber Pillar 8 Reales
Philip V "Milled" 8 Reales 1733 Mo-F UNC Details (Obverse
Tooled) NGC, Mexico City mint, KM103, Cal-1438. Milled type.
Small crown variety. The second date in the classic Pillar series,
difficult to locate in any condition, especially as fine as this
example. The trivial obverse tooling hardly conceals the
olive-infused beauty of the coin, which screams of originality and
even fresh mint bloom. This, coupled with an undeniably strong
pedigree, will surely entice the Mexican specialist.Ex. Ponterio & Associates Auction 112 (April 2001, Lot 1097); Gerber Collection (Spink America, December 1995, Lot 192)
