Lovely Near-Gem Medal
Napoleon gold "Medical Colleges" Medal 1805-Dated MS64 NGC,
Bramsen-467. 41mm. 61.56gm. By Andrieu and Jouannin. Celebrating
the establishment of the Medical Colleges. Possibly a unicorn in
gold, with no traceable auction records for the type over the past
two decades. The obverse that displays Andrieu's classic bust of
Napoleon beams with luster, as does the spartan reverse that
features the mythological healing figures of Aesculapeus and
Telesphorus. This stunning specimen was surely locked away for a
long time as the high points display no perceptible wear.Metal: Gold
