William III gold 5 Guineas 1699 AU53 NGC, KM505.1, Fr-309,
S-3454. UNDECIMO edge. High denticles from the well-centered strike
perfectly frame the motifs, including the large bust of William of
Orange, or "King Billy" as he remains fondly named in Protestant
communities because of his victory over James II at the Battle of
the Boyne in 1690. A pleasing tinge of olive fills the fields,
helping the subtly lit devices grab the viewer's attention. This is
a strong example for the grade of this always in-demand type.Metal: Gold
