Great Britain: William IV gold Sovereign 1831 MS64+ NGC,...
Description
Elusive "WW Without Stops" Sovereign
William IV gold Sovereign 1831 MS64+ NGC, KM717, S-3829a,
EGC-1017, Marsh-16a (R5). First bust, incuse W.W. without stops. A
particularly impressive and scarce example of the date, where most
specimens we handle include stops after William Wyon's initials,
and are notably absent here, going from an R2 to an R5, according
to Marsh. Waves of brilliant frost ripple across the aurous
surfaces, fully enhancing the enjoyable appearances of this virtual
Gem. The sole finest for the variety and bested by just two for the
date, coupled with its advanced eye appeal, makes this an
opportunity not to be passed up by both type collectors and
specialists.Metal: Gold
Diameter: 22.05mm
Weight: 7.9881g
