Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1778/7/6 So-DA MS63 NGC, Santiago mint, KM27, Cal-2155. The 1778 date and mint type has only appeared certified in market once before, sold by Heritage in 2022 (Heritage Auction 3098, January 2022, Lot 33487). However this example in hand is made all the more collectable by its double overdates, with the flat top of the "7" visible below the 8, and the shadow of the "6" appearing slightly to the left of the 8. Further elevating this specimen is its Choice assignment and lemon-gold luminosity.From the Val y Mexia Collection
