Chile: Charles IV gold 8 Escudos 1801 So-AJ MS63+ NGC,...
Description
Charles IV gold 8 Escudos 1801 So-AJ MS63+ NGC, Santiago mint, KM54, Cal-1769. While many examples of this type fall just short of Mint State, this specimen has not only attained that coveted distinction but is also tied for the finest certified by either major grading service. In-hand inspection further confirms the quality, as the bust is well defined, and the fields abound in a notable shine that undoubtedly has earned this piece its "plus" additive. From the Val y Mexia Collection
