Colombia: Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1776 P-SF AU55 PCGS,...
Description
Charles III gold 8 Escudos 1776 P-SF AU55 PCGS, Popayan mint, KM50.2, Cal-2044. A flashy example of a semi-key date in the series. Subtly toned yet abundantly lustered on both sides. Quite attractive and wholly original, this is an exemplar of just how eye appealing this type can be when found without problems.Ex. Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins (Stack's, January 2019, Lot 42464); ex. Christie's Geneva sale of the Kurt Homme Collection (November 25-26, 1981, lot 721)
