    Description

1804 10C 13 Stars on Reverse Dime VF20 Repaired Obverse, Corroded SEGS (VF20 Corroded, Repaired). JR-1, R.5. The Guide Book mintage of 8,265 is the lowest in the history of the denomination, except for the 1867 and the legendary 1894-S. Factor in a low survival rate, and the 1804 Dime is one of the unheralded rarities of our early silver coinage. The coinage was further divided into two distinct varieties, with the 14 Stars Reverse even more elusive. This coin has green-gray fields and a light steel-gray color on the devices. Only faintly granular, and about half of E PLURIBUS UNUM is legible. The devices have abundant details, however, the obverse field and Liberty's neck appear to have been smoothed. (NGC ID# 236N, PCGS# 4474)

    Weight: 2.70 grams
