    Description

    Extremely Fine 1916/16 Nickel

1916 5C Doubled Die Obverse Nickel XF 40 SEGS (40 Cleaned). DDO-1, FS-016. Evenly worn over both sides, the dull gray surfaces show numerous vertical streaks of russet patina on the reverse. The Doubled Die 1916 nickel is probably the rarest coin of the 20th century that is included as a part of a regular U.S. series. It is elusive in all grades and virtually unobtainable in AU and Mint State.

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2TSS, PCGS# 3931)

    Weight: 5.00 grams

    Metal: 75% Copper, 25% Nickel
