    Four piece piefort essai lot as follows: Formerly offered as lot 4647 in David Aker's August, 1999 sale of the John Jay Pittman Collection, where it was described as: "Pieforts with essai. 20 francs, 1949. KM-PE1. Proof. Light reddish-gold toning; 50 Francs 1949. KM-PE2. Proof. Reddish-gold toning. Lightly hairlined, especially on the obverse.; 50 Francs, 1949 (duplicate). KM-PE2. Proof. Light reddish-gold toning. A few light hairlines on both sides. Planchet defects at back of neck; and 100 Francs, 1950. KM-PE3. Choice Proof. Brilliant mirror fields and edge, and delicate golden toning. This is the finest quality coin in the lot. Only 104 pieces were struck of each denomination." (PCGS# 101350)
