    Arab-Byzantine. Imitating Constans II. Ca. 7th-8th centuries A.D. AE fals (20 mm, 3.45 g). Diospolis (Ludd). Caliph standing facing / Large M, cross above. S. Qedar, "Copper Coinage of Syria in the Seventh and Eighth Century A.D.," INJ 10 (1988-1989), series D/1, pl. 5, 15 (same dies). Near VF, dark brown patina with earthen encrustation. Extremely rare.
