    Maurice Tiberius (AD 582-602). AV solidus (4.35 gm). NGC MS 4/5 - 3/5, clipped, scratches.   Constantinople, 8th officina, ca. AD 583/4-602. O N mAVRC-TIb P P AVI, pearl-diademed, helmeted, draped and cuirassed bust of Maurice Tiberius facing, globus cruciger in right hand / VICTORI-A AVGG H (over Z?), Angel standing facing, long staff terminating in staurogram in right hand, globus cruciger in left; CONOB in exergue. Sear 478. DOC 5a1. The officina letter appears to originally have been Z, but perhaps a die was needed, recut and transferred from officina 7 to 8?
