    Theodore II Ducas-Lascaris, Emperor of Nicaea (AD 1254-1258). AV hyperpyron (27mm, 4.23 gm, 6h). NGC MS 4/5 - 4/5. Magnesia, dated RY 3 (AD 1256/7). Full length figure of Christ Pantocrator enthroned facing, raising right hand in benediction; Γ - Γ (date) flanking, the first reverted / Theodore standing facing, holding labarum, being crowned by the Virgin Mary standing facing, head slightly left. Sear 2136. DOC 4c. A very rare variety and date! Areas of flatness, still quite exceptionally good for this type.
