Unpublished Cyprus Obol
CYPRUS. Paphos. Timarchos (or Timocharis?). Ca. 4th century BC. AR obol (10mm, 0.70 gm, 2h). NGC Choice AU 5/5 - 3/5. Head of Aphrodite right, wearing tiara cojoined with mural crown / Dove flying right, thunderbolt behind, Cypriot letters TIM above. Cf. BMC Cyprus p. 43, 46 (tetrobol of "uncertain king" with similar design). Apparently unpublished as an obol! Dark gray patina.Auction Info
