LYDIAN KINGDOM. Croesus (ca. 561-546 BC). AR stater or double siglos (22mm, 10.55 gm). NGC VF 5/5 - 3/5, scuff. Sardes, ca. 550-546 BC. Confronted foreparts of lion right and bull left / Two square punches side-by-side. Bark 20. SNG Kayhan 1018. BMFA 2070. Berk, 100 Greatest Ancient Coins, p. 13, no. 19. Well centered and struck on a broad oval flan, and attractively toned.
