MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AV stater (19mm, 8.56 gm, 6h). Early posthumous issue of Akko-Ptolemais, under Philip III Arrhidaeus, dated CY 26 (321/0 BC). Draped bust of Athena right, wearing triple-crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, bowl ornamented with griffin leaping right / AΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ, Nike standing left, holding wreath and stylis; date below left wing: -|O above || ||| =. Price 3263a (same dies). Newell, Dated 23, pl. vii, 1. Extremely rare dated issue!
