Unusually Detailed Serpent Helmet on Unlisted Stater

MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Philip III Arrhidaeus (323-317 BC). AV stater (18mm, 8.55 gm, 10h). NGC VF 4/5 - 4/5. Lifetime-posthumous issue of Marathus, ca. 323-300. Head of Athena right, hair in four tight parallel corkscrew curls, two more curls over left shoulder, wearing pendant earring, necklace, and triple-crested Corinthian helmet pushed back on head, long intersecting crest ends, the bowl decorated with coiled serpent right with jaws open / ΦΙΛΙΠΠΟΥ, Nike standing facing, head left, wreath in outstretched right hand, stylis cradled in left arm; ΣA monogram in outer left field, APΛ monogram in left field below wing.
