PONTIC KINGDOM. Mithradates VI Eupator, the Great (120-63 BC). AR tetradrachm (31mm, 16.22 gm, 11h). NGC XF 4/5 - 3/5. Pergamum mint, dated Pontic Era 210 (88/7 BC). Diademed head of Mithradates right, long hair in disarray / BAΣIΛEΩΣ MIΘPAΔATOY EYΠATOPOΣ, stag grazing left; star-in-crescent to left; to right, IΣ (year) above BK monogram; E (month 5) in exergue; all within Dionysiac wreath. De Callataÿ p. 15 (D62/R1; unlisted reverse die). Cf. SNG Copenhagen 234. Old cabinet toning over lightly porous surfaces.
