Beautiful Kore / Nike Type
Syracuse. Agathocles (317-289 BC). AR tetradrachm (24mm, 16.93 gm, 8h). Ca. 305-295. Wreathed head of Kore right, wearing single-pendent earring and necklace; KOPAΣ behind / Nike standing right, erecting trophy; [AΓA]ΘOK[ΛEIOΣ] in exergue, monogram to lower left, triskeles to right. Ierardi 102 (O21/R63). SNG ANS 664. Nicely centered and cleanly struck from fresh dies. Good Extremely Fine.From the Kim Werner Collection. Acquired from Harlan J. Berk, 11 October 1992.
