THRACE. Byzantium. Ca. 200-150 BC. AV stater (22mm, 8.49 gm, 12h). NGC MS 5/5 - 3/5, brushed. Posthumous issue in the name and types of Lysimachus of Thrace, ca. 100-96 BC. Diademed head of deified Alexander III right, with horn of Ammon, diadem tie flying up behind / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ / ΛΥΣΙΜΑΧΟΥ, Athena enthroned left, Nike in right hand crowning royal name, resting left elbow on grounded shield decorated with star motif, transverse spear beyond; NCΘ monogram to inner left, BY on throne, filleted trident left in exergue.
