As far as diversity of types, no phase of coinage is as fascinating as Greek coins. How do you collect them? Well, the answer is as individual as the collector. First of all, buy what you like, coins that appeal to you. Eventually one theme or more will develop: it might be the fifty most historical and readily identifiable coin-types, fractional (under drachm-size) silver, bronze coinage of Carthage or musical instruments depicted on ancient coins. All these, and dozens more, are topics which have fascinated collectors. Whatever is chosen, the focus should reflect the interests and background of the owner.
