A rare issue struck during the disastrous last full year of the Jewish Revolt which saw the long and drawn out siege of Jerusalem by the Roman army. During the siege many of the city's inhabitants suffered from starvation and disease, while the factions of the rebel leadership began to fight amongst themselves. Later in 70 C.E. the city was stormed and destroyed by the Romans under Titus.
