    Description

PERSIS KINGDOM. Artaxerxes (Ardaxshir) II (ca. late 1st century BC). AR hemidrachm (15mm, 2.08 gm, 5h). Choice VF. Persepolis. Diademed bust of Artaxerxes II left, wearing mural crown and three-ringed torque / Persian-Aramaic legend, king standing left before altar, holding scepter. Sunrise 595. Alram 571.

On the obverse, it appears as though there are two small pellets behind the bust, along with a ghosting of a legend in the left field and possibly a caduceus in the right field, all of which may indicate this coin was struck over a host coin.
