Anonymous Issue (ca. 1st century AD). AE spintria tessera (20mm, 4.99 gm, 7h). Choice Fine. Erotic series. Couple on couch: female figure lying down, leaning on left elbow, right arm holding up right leg, looking back at male(?) partner lying behind / VIIII(?), within beaded and laureate border. Buttrey Spintriae pl. 3, 7 (same obverse die). Cf. Numismatica Ars Classica, Auction 92 Part 1 (23 May 2016), lot 481 for same type. Rare type reflecting a rich history. Evaluated by NGC with inconclusive results, thus ineligible for encapsulation.SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS.
