Divus Vespasian. Died A.D. 79. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.17 g, 6 h). 'Judaea Capta' issue. Rome, under Titus, A.D. 80-81. Laureate head of Vespasian right / Victory standing left, inscribing shield on trophy; weeping personification of Judaea seated to left. RIC 364 (Titus); BMC 112; BN 90; RSC 144. Toned Fine, PVC residue (can be removed).Titus issued this coinage to commemorate the deification of his father and to continue to spend the political capital generated by the successful defeat of the Jewish rebels during the First Jewish Revolt.
