    From the Morris Collection.

The Severan dynasty produced a number of interesting dynastic aurei featuring different members of the family. Each was meant to bolster the idea that Rome was safe in their hands and that the sons would carry on the successful policy of the father. This coin features a young teen Geta being associated with his parents, represented as the sun and moon. The imagery is powerful and this comparison was a clear message of prosperity, power and protection for the citizens of the empire.
