PTOLEMAIC EGYPT. Ptolemy VI Philometor (180-145 BC) or Ptolemy V Epiphanes (204-145 BC). AR stater or tetradrachm (27mm, 13.29 gm, 11h). Choice VF, repaired, light marks. Alexandria, ca. 204 BC. Diademed head of Ptolemy I right, aegis tied around neck; dotted border / ΠTOΛEMAIOY-BAΣIΛEΩΣ, eagle standing left on thunderbolt, with closed wings; no control marks, dotted border. Svoronos 1231 and 1489. SNG Copenhagen 244-245 and 262-268. Ptolemy V and VI both have the same type and the two types are indistinguishable from one another. Evidence of a repair, thus ineligible for encapsulation.
