Extremely Rare Sulla's Dream Denarius
L. Aemilius Buca (44 BC). AR denarius (19mm, 2.35 gm, 8h). NGC
Good 4/5 - 2/5, bankers marks, edge chips. Rome. L•BVCA, head
of Venus right, wearing stephane, pendant earring, and necklace,
with hair pulled into chignon at back of head, some loose curls
behind / Sulla reclining on rock right (on left), sleeping; Victory
stands facing beyond, with wings spread, staff in right hand, Luna
descending from mountain left (on right), with billowing cloth in
both hands. Crawford 480/1. Sydenham 1064. Aemilia 12. Extremely
rare. Scuff on reverse noted for accuracy.
