Sextus Pompey. 42-40 B.C. AR denarius (19 mm, 3.67 g, 9'). Uncertain Sicilian mint, perhaps at Catana. Bare head of Pompey the Great right; capis behind, lituus before / Neptune leaning left, holding aplustre and resting right foot on prow of galley, between the brothers Anapias and Amphinomus, carrying their parents on their shoulders. Crawford 511/3a; HCRI 334; Sydenham 1344; RSC 17 (Pompey the Great). Toned, good VF, flan a little tight, but good metal and a strong portrait of Pompey.
