Republic Peso 1881 MS62 NGC, KM29, Elizondo-32, Janson-12. Mintage: 62,000. A popular first year of a three-year type, and one rarely encountered in Mint State conditions. A covetable, choice specimen enlivened by an all-encompassing peach, amber, and lilac patina, bathing the personification of Liberty in eye-appealing beauty. Of the examples submitted to third-party grading companies, only three have been awarded uncirculated designations.
