Republic Pure Nickel 50 Centavos Pattern 1940, KM-Pn54, superb gem Proof, bust by Lucien Bazor and with ESSAI below the bust. Very rare type struck in pure (magnetic) nickel with reeded edge. 24 mm, 6.10 grams. This is the first example of the Bazor type that we have encountered. It is believed that this was one of the last issues of the Paris Mint before the Nazi occupation and that only three pieces were struck.Auction Info
