According to the article, La Primera Emision de Moneda Nacional en El Uruguay, by Ruben W. Vergara, "Las monedas que llevan las fechas de 1822 y 1823, circularon hasta 1827, en СЛУО: año fueron desmonetizadas por decreto de Rivadavia del 20 de abril de ese año." [English] The coins bearing the dates 1822 and 1823 circulated until 1827,
in which year they were demonetized by Rivadavia's decree of April 20 of that year. (Pg 7)
