Description
La Rioja. Provincial gold 2 Escudos 1842-R AU53 NGC, La Rioja mint, KM13, Fr-11. A popular and historical issue displaying the bust of General Juan Manuel de Rosas, caudillo and totalitarian leader of Argentina through the early 1850s. A fun type often accompanied by a crude planchet cut, which is the case here. The wear to the devices is commensurate with the grade, though this remains problem free and quite pleasing.From the Robert C. Pickett Collection
